Google News Initiative’s workshop ‘Poll Check Bhopal’ today in MCU
Bhopal, 16th March, 2019: As part of its pan-India training series poll check, Google News Initiative will hold a day-long workshop ‘Poll Check Bhopal’ on Sunday, March 17, in Makhanlal Chaturvedi National University of Journalism and Communication, Bhopal.
Journalists from various media organisations and students from media field will participate in the training programme. The sessions will begin at 9 am with registration.
Various technical sessions on online verification, fact checking, data journalism, digital security and safety, visualizing election data, photo and video verification, YouTube for election coverage etc. will be held. Experts from Google news initiative Geetika Rustagi and Rama Solanki will be speakers in the session. University Vice Chancellor Shri Dipak Tiwari will also be present there.
The workshop is open for journalists of Bhopal with registration. Misleading and fake news have emerged as a serious menace, affecting the credibility and accuracy of journalism. The workshop will train aspiring journalists in curbing it.
