Online lecture held on ‘Best practices and information on prevention and control of COVID-19’ in MCU

Bhopal, 05th July, 2020: President of Indian Medical Association, Dr. Rajan Sharma said that a lot of misleading information is circulating on Covid-19. We should beware of them and follow only government-issued advisory.

Dr Sharma expressed the views in an online lecture on ‘Best Practices and Information on Prevention and Control of Kovid-19’, organized by Makhanlal Chaturvedi National University of Journalism and Communication. He said that masks should be used properly to prevent the infection. It is necessary to cover nose and mouth with a mask. Hand washing should be a habit and work place should be kept clean. Doctor must be consulted immediately after development of symptoms.

Dr Sharma said, ‘We should prepare for the future, learning lesson from this pandemic. India should invest in health sector keeping in mind its population because the countries with adequate health infrastructure can face such crisis.’ He further said that cases of infections are on the rise but at the same time, recovery rate is also increasing. It rate is very good in many states. In the initial phase of the outbreak of the disease, there was no facility to manufacture PPE kit and no lab for testing. But, the situations have changed now. We are independent in PPE kit manufacturing and testing labs are also adequate.
