Journalism University to be developed further as Institute of Excellence: Chief Minister

Vice-Chancellor Prof Suresh apprise CM Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan of varsity activities, Govt to extend full support for varsity programme

Bhopal, 20 September 2020: Vice Chancellor of Makhanlal Chaturvedi National University of Journalism and Communication, Prof KG Suresh met chairman of General Council and Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan. He apprised the Chief Minister of University’s present status, future and expansion plan. He also briefed about the ongoing works of academic development. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan assured to extend full support for the university’s progress. During the discussion, the Chief Minister hoped that the Journalism University will be developed further as an Institute of Excellence in journalism education. Chief Minister is ex-officio Chairman of General Council of the university.

On the occasion, Chief Minister Shri Chouhan, in a message on twitter, said that Prof Suresh has a long experience in journalism. He made advancement in the institutions wherever he worked, with his dedication and devotion. The students will certainly get benefit of him. They will gain new knowledge from him, which will help in building their career.  The Chief Minister also said that Prof Suresh used to meet him as a journalist when he was a Member of Parliament. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that media institutions of Madhya Pradesh, Department of Public Relations, newspaper organisations and other institutions will get services of students passing out from the University. The University will emerge as an Institute of Excellence during Prof Suresh’ tenure.
