Department of Journalism
Department of Journalism was established in the year 1991 with the inception of the University. The department was established for developing Media professionals in mainstream and core areas of Journalism. It is committed to provide excellence in teaching and training students as well as research- scholars in the area of journalism ever since. It offers PhD and post-graduation programme M.A. in Journalism and M.A. in Digital Journalism. The department studies market trends and new developments in the media industry closely and conducts brainstorming with leading academia and industry professionals to enrich the course content.
The department has a well-equipped media lab and a departmental library. It conducts hands-on workshop on recent trends in Digital Journalism, Photo Journalism and Mass Communication, Media Law and Ethics periodically.
Many alumni of the department are now working with top brands like ABP, ZEE News, NDTV, Indian Express, Times of India, Dainik Bhaskar, Dainik Jagran, Hindustan Times, Pioneer, India Today, Jansatta, Nav Bharat, Patrika, Nav Duniya, Doordarshan, AIR, News 18, CNBC, AAJTAK, Web Dunia and many more.
