Three-day Orientation Programme of New Students in MCU from October 26

Eminent personalities of Media, communication, Advertisement and Computer Science will interact with students, Event to be live on Facebook

Bhopal, 24 October, 2020: The annual Orientation Programme, dedicated for providing career guidance to new students, will be held this year in online mode in Makhanlal Chaturvedi National University of Journalism and Communication, Bhopal between October 26 and 28. Founder of Shri Vaidik Mission Trust, Rajkot, Swami Dharmbandhu and Vice Chancellor Prof KG Suresh will inaugurate the programme on October 26 at 10.30 am. Many renowned and eminent personalities Padmashree recipient journalist Shri Alok Mehta, Media director and president of Reliance Industries Shri Umesh Upadhyay, editor of Business World Shri Anurag Batra, group editor of Times Network Smt Navika Kumar, editor of News.com Shri Alok Verma, Vice Chancellor of Mahatma Gandhi Central University, Motihari, Prof Sanjeev Sharma will interact with students.

Registrar Prof Avinash Bajpai informed that 80,000 students of Associated Study Centres of the university will also join the Orientation Programme first time.

In the inaugural session, key note speaker Swami Dharmabandhu will deliver address on ‘Power of Youth and Future of India’. Vice Chancellor Prof KG Suresh will preside over it. In the first technical session, at 12 noon, Group Editor of Times Network, Smt Navika Kumar will deliver lecture ‘Challenges in New Age Journalism’. Editor and Business Head of TV-9 Network, Shri Rakesh Khar will address the second technical session on ‘Media Entrepreneurship’. Editor-in-Chief Shri Alok Verma will address the third technical session on ‘Digital Media: Future and Opportunities’ at 3 pm.

On the second day on October 27, senior journalist Shri Alok Mehta will address the session at 10 am on ‘Patrakarita Ki Laxman Rekha’. Media Director of Reliance Industries and President Shri Umesh Upadhyay will address the session on ‘New Media: Opportunities and Challenges’ at 1 pm. Senior editorial advisor of DD News, Shri Ashok Shrivastava’ will deliver a lecture on ‘Changing dimensions of Television News’ at 2 pm. Founder and Director of Grey Matters Communication Dr Navneet Anand will address the session on ‘PR Vaccine for Post Covid Business’ at 3.30 pm.

On October 28, Editor-in-Chief of Business World, Shri Anurag Batra will interact with students on ‘Media Management’ at 10 am. Dean of School of Computer Science, UPS, Dehradun, Dr Manish Pratik will deliver lecture ‘Prospects in Computer Science Field’, at 11.30 am and famous RJ Simran Kohli will interact with students on ‘Future of Broadcast’ at 2 pm. Vice Chancellor of Mahatma Gandhi Central University, Motihari, Prof Sanjeev Sharma will be chief guest and keynote speaker in the valedictory function to be held at 3.30 pm. He will deliver the keynote address on ‘Research in Communication: Indian Perspectives’. Vice Chancellor Prof Suresh will chair the function.
