Awareness programme on ‘Covid 19: Role of Ayush’ in MCU

Bhopal, 28th May, 2021: The disciplines covered under AYUSH are not mere traditions, it is a science. All disciplines not only treat but also maintain health. Disciplines under AYUSH could be considered as health science and not as medical science, said Secretary of Union AYUSH Ministry Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha in a awareness programme on ‘Covid 19: Role of AYUSH’. The programme was organised by Makhanlal Chaturvedi National University of Journalism and Communication, Bhopal as part of its awareness series. Vice Chancellor Prof KG Suresh said present circumstances tell us that all medical practices should be worked in harmony.

Padmashree recipient Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha said that if our immunity is strong, we can save us from diseases. AYUSH disciplines enhance our immunity. He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a meeting with AYUSH experts and appealed for case studies on this pandemic and to help people through all disciplines, while working on a scientific manner. The experts worked under a protocol. We developed AYU defence kit and those who used the kit, had lesser rate of infection. They also recovered fast. Recovery rate of AYUSH Covid centres was 99 percent. AYUSH 64 medicine was effective in treatment of Corona infection and it has been proved in scientific test. Shree Kotecha said, the department has developed Ayurveda Sanjivani app, which Union Minister Kiran Rijiju launched. The app will be used for collection of feedback of those who are getting AYUSH medicines. He said India is the only country to manage the difficult circumstances.

Vice Chancellor Prof KG Suresh said we should consult experts of Ayurveda and other practices like consulting allopath practitioners. There is a need to create awareness about Ayurveda. Corona infection has changed our mindset towards Ayurveda. All medical practices should work in harmony for welfare of people, he said. The University is the first to set up Covid Response Team. We created awareness in society. Senior Assistant Professor Lal Bahadur Ojha conducted the programme and HoD, Computer Science Department, Prof CP Agrawal proposed the vote of thanks.
