Department of Computer Science and Applications was established in the year 1993 with the aim of developing professionals in main stream and core areas of computer science andapplications.
The department offers PhD andpostgraduate degree courses like MCA, M.Sc. (Cloud Computing), M.Sc. (Information and Cyber Security) and M.Sc. (Big Data Analytics). The department studies market trends and new developments in the area of computer software and tools closely for better course design and conducts massive brainstorming with leading academia and industry professionals to develop the curricula with the vision of future of computing & IT industry.
The department is committed to provide excellence in teaching and training undergraduate and postgraduate professionals as well as research-based doctorate candidates in the area of computer science and applications. It has a rich knowledge pool of well-trained faculty and a modern computer lab enabled to impart all required knowledge, a long with its own library with latest books on various advanced areas in computers.Regular hands-on workshops are conducted to update students with the latest technology.
Many of the alumni are working in top brands like IBM, American Express Bank, Wipro, Infosys, Samsung, Microsoft, WorldPay, CISCO, HCL, Jindal, Web Dunia and more in India as well as abroad, apart from few also being entrepreneurs and some other, in academics with prestigious institutions.

Eligibility Criteria:
MCA: 3 years: Applicants should be graduate with minimum 50% marks, and should have studied mathematics at graduation or seniorsecondary level.
MCA (LE): 2 Years: BCA, B.Sc. (IT/Comp. Sc.) of minimum 3 years duration with mathematics at 10+2 level or graduation. Applicants should have obtained 50% (45% for SC/ ST) marks at graduate level.
About the Programme:
Master of Computer Applications (MCA) is a three/ two years post graduate programme based on the development of application software in diverse areas of information technology. The syllabus of MCA is designed to meet the growing demand of qualified professionals in the field of information and computer technology and also provides the latest industrial elective courses and project work. It comprises of the core subjects like database, networking, data structure, core programming languages like C, C++, .NET and Java. Students also get exposure to advanced topics like cyber security, mobile software, IOT, data science etc. Elective papers help students to have an exposure in Cloud Computing, Big Data and Information Security related subjects.
