Department of Journalism

Department of Journalism was established in the year 1991 right with the inception of the university. The department was established for developing media professionals in mainstream and core areas of journalism. It has been committed to provide excellence in teaching and training students as well as research-based doctorate candidates in the area of journalism ever since. It offers PhD and post-graduation courses M.A. in Journalism and M.A. in Digital Journalism. The departmentstudies market trends and new developments in the media industry closely, and conducts brainstorming with leading academia and industry professionals to enrich the course content.
The department has a well-equipped media lab and a departmental library. It conducts hands-on workshop on recent trends in Digital Journalism, Photo Journalism and Mass Communication, Law and Ethics etc.periodically.
