Orientation of first batch of Public Relations officers concludes

Bhopal, 15th December, 2020: The orientation programme of first batch of Public Relations officers of MP Government concluded today in Makhanlal Chaturvedi National University of Journalism and Communication, Bhopal. In the valedictory function, Director, Public Relations, Shri Ashutosh Pratap Singh said a public relations officer must be updated with changing media technology and trends and update his or her skills as per the requirements. Twitter has been a major platform to redress public grievances. He also called upon public relations officers for blogging.

Chairing the session, Vice Chancellor Prof KG Suresh said the orientation programme was a forum for idea exchange. Human interest stories related with success of government programmes can be placed in media. Third party endorsement should be made in press releases. The Vice Chancellor said that the University will develop a training centre for public relations officers of not only Madhya Pradesh but across the country, at its new campus.

Before the valedictory function, experts of different fields addressed sessions, and interacted with participants. IT experts Shri Ankeshwar Mishra, Shri Krishna Sharma spoke on information technology tools being used in the department. Joint director (news) of Doordarshan centre Bhopal, Puja P Vardhan, Editor of Bansal News Shri Sharad Dwivedi, Director and Founder of GreyMatters Communication Shri Navneet Anand, HoD of New Media Technology Department Prof P Sasikala, former DG of Doordarshan Smt Veena Jain, Dean of Jagran Lake City University Dr Diwakar Shukla addressed the sessions. Participants Smt Sunita Dubey and deputy director Dr RR Patel shared their experiences about the orientation. Registrar Dr Avinash Bajpayee proposed the vote of thanks. Dr Jaya Surjani conducted the programme. Training convener Dr Anurag Seetha presented the report. Director Shri Singh and Vice Chancellor Prof Suresh distributed certificates to the participants.
