UGC releases new list, removes name of MCU from list of defaulter Universities

Steps taken after  Vice Chancellor Prof Suresh raises objection

Bhopal, 7th July, 2024: The University Grants Commission has removed the name of Makhanlal Chaturvedi National Journalism and Communication University from the list of defaulter universities of the country for not appointing the Ombudsman. It is noteworthy that the University Grants Commission had included the name of MCU in the list of defaulter universities for not appointing the Ombudsman. Due to the prompt efforts of the MCU Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) K.G.  Suresh, orders for the appointment of former retired Principal District and Sessions Judge Shri Omprakash Sunraya were issued by the University on June 7 itself. It is noteworthy that the Vice-Chancellor of MCU, Prof. (Dr.) K.G. Suresh had written a letter to UGC registering deep objection in this matter. After which the University Grants Commission took steps and released a new updated list on July 2 in which the name of MCU has been removed from the list of defaulter universities. Regarding this Prof. Suresh has thanked UGC. Expressing his gratitude, he said that due to lack of communication, there was some misunderstanding, which has been rectified by the UGC. Pro. Suresh said that amid the process of appointment of Lokpal, the code of conduct was imposed due to the Lok Sabha elections. Immediately after its removal, orders for the appointment of Lokpal were issued by the MCU administration on June 7. He said that the university follows all the rules of UGC smoothly and implements them promptly.Vice Chancellor Prof. Suresh said that the National Education Policy has also been implemented by the MCU three years ago. Whereas in many universities it has not been implemented yet.  MCU takes all matters very seriously and takes  decisions very quickly.

Lokpal Shri Omprakash Sunraya took charge in MCU

Bhopal, 06th July, 2024: Retired Principal District and Sessions Judge Shri Omprakash Sunraya took charge as Lokpal at Makhanlal Chaturvedi National University of Journalism and Communication. On this occasion, Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. (Dr.) K.G. Suresh welcomed Shri Sunraya by presenting a bouquet and memento. The first Ombudsman of the University, Shri Sunraya said that the University appears eager to innovate. Shri Sunraya said that he is hopeful that the university will address the problems of the students at its own level. Shri Sunraya said that the  students should be proud of being a part of Makhanlal Chaturvedi University. Expressing the feeling of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam, he shared his happiness on becoming a member of the university.  On this occasion, Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Dr. K.G. Suresh in his welcome speech shared information about the achievements and works of the university. He said that the university is committed to the all-round development and welfare of the students. He said that many services like gym, meditation centre, doctors and counselors have been made available in the interest of the students.  He informed that the university campus was shifted to a sprawling 50 acres campus in Makhanapuram, Bishenkhedi from MP Nagar last year. The new campus has separate hostels for boys and girls  and also offers  residential facilities for teachers, officers and employees. Pro. Suresh said  that the university has more than 1600 study centers where about two lakh students are studying.  He shared that the university also has its own campuses in Khandwa and Rewa, Datia. भोपाल, 06 जुलाई, 2024: माखनलाल चतुर्वेदी राष्ट्रीय पत्रकारिता एवं संचार विश्वविद्यालय में सेवानिवृत्ति प्रधान जिला व सत्र न्यायाधीश श्री ओमप्रकाश सुनरया ने लोकपाल के रुप में कार्यभार ग्रहण किया। इस अवसर पर विश्वविद्यालय के कुलगुरु प्रो. (डॉ.) के.जी. सुरेश ने पुष्पगुच्छ एवं स्मृति चिन्ह भेंटकर श्री सुनरया का स्वागत किया। विश्वविद्यालय के प्रथम लोकपाल श्री सुनरया ने कहा कि विश्वविद्यालय नवाचार करने के लिए उत्सुक दिखाई देता है। श्री सुनरया ने कहा कि उन्हें आशा है विश्वविद्यालय विद्यार्थियों की कई समस्याओं को अपने स्तर पर ही हल कर लेगा। श्री सुनरया ने कहा कि सर्टिफिकेट ही विद्यार्थी की पहचान होती है और माखनलाल चतुर्वेदी विश्वविद्यालय पर उन्हें गर्व होना चाहिए। उन्होंने वसुधैव कुटुंबकम् की भावना व्यक्त करते हुए विश्वविद्यालय के सदस्य बनने पर खुशी जताई।

इस अवसर पर विश्वविद्यालय के कुलगुरु प्रो. डॉ. के.जी. सुरेश ने अपने वक्तव्य में श्री सुनरया का स्वागत करते हुए विश्वविद्यालय की उपलब्धियां एवं कार्यों की जानकारी दी। उन्होंने कहा कि विश्वविद्यालय विद्यार्थियों के सर्वांगीण विकास और कल्याण के प्रति प्रतिबद्ध हैं। उन्होंने कहा की जिम, ध्यान केंद्र, चिकित्सक और काउंसलर जैसे कई सेवाएं विद्यार्थियों के हित में उपलब्ध कराई गई है।उन्होंने बताया कि विश्वविद्यालय पहले एमपी नगर स्थित परिसर में लगता था और पिछले वर्ष बिशनखेड़ी स्थित पचास एकड़ में बने नवीन परिसर माखनपुरम में शिफ्ट हुआ है। प्रो. सुरेश ने बताया कि विश्वविद्यालय परिसर में बालक एवं बालिका छात्रावास है, इसके अलावा शिक्षकों, अधिकारियों एवं कर्मचारियों के आवास भी यहां है। प्रो. सुरेश ने बताया कि विश्वविद्यालय के 1600 सौ से अधिक अध्ययन केंद्र हैं जहां लगभग दो लाख विद्यार्थी अध्ययनरत हैं। उन्होंने बताया कि खंडवा,रीवा दतिया में भी विश्वविद्यालय के स्वयं के परिसर संचालित हैं। इस अवसर पर कुलसचिव प्रो. डॉ. अविनाश वाजपेयी, डीन (अकादमिक) प्रो. डॉ. शशिकला, डीन (छात्र कल्याण) प्रो. डॉ. मनीष माहेश्वरी, परीक्षा नियंत्रक डॉ. राजेश पाठक, चीफ़ वार्डन डॉ. सुनीता द्विवेदी, वार्डन श्री मुकेश चोरासे, मेंटर डॉ. मणि नायर, सहायक कुलसचिव गिरीश जोशी, श्री राजेश शर्मा, सहायक प्रोग्रामर श्री ज्ञानेश्वर ढोके, जनसंपर्क अधिकारी एवं विशेष अधिकारी डॉ अरुण खोबरे, श्री आदित्य जैन, श्री देवेंद्र शर्मा उपस्थित थे।

विकसित भारत बनाने में मीडिया की अहम भूमिका :  कुलगुरु प्रो. वाजपेयी

“विकसित भारत 2047 : मीडिया की भूमिका” विषय पर एक विशेष व्याख्यान

भोपाल, 03 जुलाई, 2024: माखनलाल चतुर्वेदी राष्ट्रीय पत्रकारिता एवं संचार विश्वविद्यालय के माखनपुरम परिसर में “विकसित भारत 2047 : मीडिया की भूमिका” विषय पर एक विशेष व्याख्यान का आयोजन किया गया। जिसमें मुख्य वक्ता अटल बिहारी वाजपेयी विश्वविद्यालय बिलासपुर के कुलगुरु प्रो. अरुण दिवाकर नाथ वाजपेयी थे, जबकि अध्यक्षता विश्वविद्यालय के कुलगुरु प्रो. डॉ. के.जी. सुरेश ने की। प्रकाशन विभाग द्वारा आयोजित इस व्याख्यान की अध्यक्षता करते हुए प्रो. सुरेश ने कहा कि विकसित भारत हम सब का सपना है। उन्होंने कहा कि इसके लिए हम क्या कुछ कर सकते हैं ? क्या करना चाहिए ? क्या योगदान दे सकते हैं ? इस बारे में हमें सोचना है और करना है। प्रो. सुरेश ने कहा कि विश्वविद्यालय को समाज से अलग नहीं देखा जाना चाहिए। उन्होंने कहा कि विश्वविद्यालय तो विचार देता है। विश्वविद्यालय एक प्रकार से थिंक टैंक होता है। एक भारत श्रेष्ठ भारत की कल्पना में हमें भारत के विकास में योगदान देना है। प्रो. सुरेश ने कहा कि हमें अपने देश को विकसित राष्ट्र बनाना है।

अटल बिहारी वाजपेयी विश्वविद्यालय बिलासपुर के कुलगुरु प्रो. अरुण दिवाकर नाथ वाजपेयी ने कहा कि भारतवर्ष एक सांस्कृतिक राष्ट्र के रूप में विख्यात है। संस्कृतियों को जोड़ने वाली महाशक्ति हमारी आध्यात्मिकता है। आध्यात्मिकता तत्व हम सबको जोड़ता है।  हम एक हैं, उसकी अभिव्यक्ति सबमें में हो रही है। उन्होंने कहा कि भारत के विकसित राष्ट्र के निर्माण में मीडिया की बहुत अहम भूमिका है। प्रो. वाजपेयी ने कहा कि जब विधायिका, कार्यपालिका या न्यायपालिका भटक जाए तो मीडिया राह दिखाने का कार्य करती है। उन्होंने कहा कि असंतुलन, असमानता किसी भी जगह नहीं होनी चाहिए। आत्मावलोकन की बात करते हुए प्रो वाजपेयी ने कहा कि भारत के जन्म की कोई तिथि नहीं है। उन्होंने कहा कि हमें सबको साथ लेकर 2047 के विकसित भारत के लिए मिलकर प्रयास करना होगा और देश के लिए अपना योगदान देना होगा। कार्यक्रम का संयोजन एवं संचालन प्रकाशन विभाग के निदेशक डॉ. राकेश पांडे द्वारा किया गया। द्रोणाचार्य कक्ष में आयोजित इस विशेष व्याख्यान में कुलसचिव प्रो. डॉ अविनाश वाजपेयी सभी विभागों के विभागाध्यक्ष, शिक्षक, अधिकारी एवं कर्मचारी उपस्थित थे। व्याख्यान के पश्चात कुलगुरु प्रो. वाजपेयी ने विश्वविद्यालय परिसर में पौधारोपण भी किया।
